Hey Backers,
By now most of you (90%) should have either received your PBL or received a tracking number email.
If you haven’t received either DON’T PANIC we promise we have your order and that you will recieve it, you are just in the next batch of shipments going out tomorrow & Monday (about 150 of you). You should receive a tracking email within the next 48 hours. Remember that all shipments were upgraded to Priority Shipping so you should have your orders in-hand very soon! Apologies for the delay! We thought we'd get everything out by Friday and that might have been really idealistic thinking but we are definitely we are working diligently to get every order shipped out within 5-6 days of it’s arrival in our facility- which I think is a major win.
Feel free to reach out and let us know what you think or if you have any questions about the PBL. Our email is [email protected] and we’re pretty quick at getting back to you.
A few product points we wanted to touch on based on some of the emails and comments we’ve been getting:
**Important Note**- Please Read
We know you may be excited to use the PBL when you receive it but please remember the following: Before attempting to use the PBL Charger to recharge your device, please remove all Metal from the back of your phone or other device. This includes any phone case that may have a metal back, magnets (for mounting), grips (iRings, PopSockets, or cardholders with metal pieces), Credit Cards that may be made of metal etc. Charging with metal in between your device and the PBL may cause your phone to heat up quickly. While the PBL has a temperature warning that auto-powers Off, please be mindful of this instruction so as not to damage your phone. Thank you!
Powering On the PBL
In order to charge your phone on the PBL (when it is not on it’s dock) you’ll need to press the Power Button located on the right side of the USB-C port. It’s really subtle and flush with the curve of the PBL as we didn’t want any buttons ruining the design element of the device.
When the PBL is placed on or removed from its dock it automatically Power On and you don’t need to press any buttons on it to begin recharging.
Charging the PBL on it’s Dock -(Please Read)
The prototype of the PBL had an LED Light that blinked to indicate the PBL was being recharged when on its dock. This was because often times the PBL was not lined up correctly with the charging pins on the dock and would not recharge unless wiggled a bit into place.
We fixed this.
We were able to increase the curve of the Dock so the PBL perfectly lines up with the charging pins (which were also raised up a bit) to ensure your PBL is charging every time it is placed down on the Dock. For that reason, we removed the blinking LED light indicator. We figured we could make nighttime and bedside use more comfortable by decreasing the number of LED lights in use while the PBL is on its dock.
(This is a feature we can bring back on future production runs if you prefer it or advise the current functionality is not ideal. Let us know! We are always itching for feedback to improve our products and make them more intuitive)
When in Use
When the PBL is being used to recharge, it makes a very low-grade buzzing or clicking sound. This is standard of wireless charging powerbanks with PCB Board protection. The reason for the buzzing is that the electric current is being regulated by the “Smart Charging” chip which makes sure it is not overcharging or undercharging your device, keeping your phone safe and powered up. This sound is an indicator that the device is working properly and you have nothing to worry about. We did our best to remove the sound completely but could only lower it. We hope this is not bothersome to you. Let us know!
If you have any additional questions or feedback please feel free to reach out! It’s generally better to email us directly at [email protected] than to comment on this campaign page (as we don’t get to it daily) but make sure to respond to all our emails.
Hope you all enjoy!
Best,
EVOTech Labs Team
