We're Upgrading the PBL for You!

Hello All Backers,

Happy Friday! Hope you are all doing well.  

We come to you today with an exciting update that we hope you'll like to hear. We felt really bad about some of the production delays we ran into that landed us in September time for delivery. Production in now well underway and all is looking good. We are planning to ship all PBL's in September and will keep you all updated as soon production completes. We sincerely apologize for the delay.

We spoke to our production facility about any potential upgrades we can give the PBL (that would not delay production any further) to make it up to all of you and considered some available options. Many Backers were reaching out asking if the PBL would be able to quick charge their phone or power their larger devices so we thought about it and decided- why not?

Drum-roll please:

 We have officially upgraded the PBL to an 18W PD Powerbank! 

  We know what most of you are thinking- What does that even mean?  
  Well allow us to school you. We'll break it down below:

"18W" (or 18 Watts) is a reference to the wattage at which the PBL will now charge your phone via the USB Type-C port. A powerbank needs 18W of power to be considered certified "Fast Charging". Fast Charging means you can charge your phone at the fastest speed possible. For example: By using the Type-C port on the PBL you can recharge your iPhone up to 50% in less than 30 minutes. Yep that's pretty quick. 

"PD" stands for Power Delivery. This is a new technology that has changed the interface of how electronics interact with one another. The essential difference between a PD Powerbank and a standard powerbank is that a PD Powerbank is capable of charging any device regardless of it's size or battery capacity.
   For example: Traditionally, if you were to take a powerbank and plug it into your laptop USB port your Laptop would begin to charge the powerbank instead of vice versa. This is because the laptop battery is larger than the powerbank battery. This makes having backup/emergency power for your laptop nearly impossible without an outlet- until now.
   Power Delivery powerbanks like the PBL can charge any device regardless of it's size or battery capacity- all you need is a Type-C USB cable and you're good to go.
 

What does this mean for you? 

We thought you may ask that (and know that some of you may be more visual learners and didn't read the above explanation) so we put together some pictures for you below to illustrate what kinds of devices can now be powered by the PBL alone:

Power Delivery is quickly being recognized as the future of powering all electronics due to its speed and the increased use of Type-C inputs on major electronic devices by brands like Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, DJI, Nintendo, Bose, Sony and more. Since the PBL already makes use of so many new technologies (wireless charging, smart chip tech, nano-suction tech) we thought it would be fitting to include this PD function. 

We hope this is exciting news for you and that you now get better use of the PBL daily. Our ultimate goal is to make your life as convenient as possible.

BackerKit Surveys are Coming!

Hey Backers!

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards. We are hoping to send all surveys out by tomorrow (Friday, August 8th) but in the case that we run into any delays making sure everything works properly, you can expect them no later than early next week. 

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase special add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via your email. 

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. This will likely be within 10 days of the surveys going out. 

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at  https://pbl-charger-the-future-of-portable-power.backerkit.com 

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. Hey Backers!

Hope you are all well. Wow-what an incredible day to see the finished result of the PBL Charger campaign. We blew our $5,000 goal out of the water! You helped us raise $49,635 - successfully funding the PBL almost 1000% percent!!! We could not have done this without your help and we cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you so much for pledging and sharing our campaign. 

Because we hit our stretch goal of $30,000, all PBL orders will come with a free Delta stand. The Delta stand is designed to make the PBL even more convenient by allowing you to use to it to charge while propping your phone up at eye level- perfect for using at work,  for watching videos or video chatting. 

 Next steps:
